Guide Berlin
Rainy day date ideas in Berlin
On a rainy day in Berlin, float in warm salt water at Liquidrom, play 1980s arcade machines at the Computerspielemuseum, lie back under the planetarium dome, or climb at Boulderklub Kreuzberg. All of them are open into the evening.
Right now 29 places and 462 events in the next 7 days work on a rainy day. Picks checked .
Warm and slow
For when the plan is mostly to get out of the rain and sit close.
A covered market hall in Kreuzberg. On Thursday evenings it’s Street Food Thursday: walk the stalls, share a few plates and stay dry.
Good to know: Street Food Thursday 17:00–22:00; market Fridays and Saturdays. Closed Sundays.
A domed hall in Kreuzberg over a pool of warm salt water, where you float on your back while music plays under the surface, with saunas around it. The best answer we know to a cold, wet evening.
Good to know: Daily until midnight (01:00 Fridays and Saturdays). 90 minutes €22, 2 hours €24.50, plus €2.50 for the saunas. DJs play underwater on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
A 23-metre dome in Prenzlauer Berg with 307 seats, a Zeiss star projector and 49 speakers. The music shows are the date pick: you sit back in the dark and nobody has to say anything.
Good to know: Science shows €12, music shows €16. Check which shows are in English before you book.
A small neighbourhood cinema in Neukölln with a bar, where most films run in the original language with English subtitles. Get there early and have a drink first; that’s where the date happens.
Good to know: Tickets €11 before 18:00, €12 after 18:00 and at weekends.
Something to play
A bit of competition warms you up faster than a radiator.
A video game museum on Karl-Marx-Allee with a 1980s arcade hall of coin-op machines you can play, Space Invaders and Asteroids among them, and the notorious PainStation. Playing against each other beats reading labels.
Good to know: Open every day 10:00–20:00, Mondays too. €12.
A big bouldering hall in Kreuzberg where beginners can start on the easy walls in hired shoes. Cheering each other up a route shows you how someone handles falling off.
Good to know: Daily till 22:00. Day ticket €13.50 (€11 on weekdays before 15:00), shoes €4. No booking needed.
A board game café in Schöneberg with more than 400 games and tarte flambée, open six days a week. Pick something for two that you can learn in ten minutes.
Good to know: Tuesday to Sunday, 14:00–22:00. Games €2.50 an hour midweek, €3.50 at weekends, capped at €10 and €14.
Ten escape rooms in Mitte, an hour each, with a burger restaurant next door for afterwards. You find out fast if you two solve puzzles the same way.
Good to know: Most rooms take 2 to 6 players. Book a slot ahead.
Private karaoke booths near Warschauer Straße, so only your date hears you sing. Better for a third date, or a first one that needs a push.
Good to know: 21 and over. From 18:00 on weekdays and 14:00 at weekends, until late.
Museums worth the trip
Big enough to spend an afternoon in, most with a café for the debrief.
Photography in the Amerika Haus by Zoo station, open till 20:00 every day, with a café. Photos are the easiest art to talk about: everyone has an opinion. Carrie Mae Weems is on until 3 February 2027.
Good to know: €15, free up to 18. Free tours in English at weekends at 15:30. The lift was out of service in October 2026.
Berlin’s own museum of modern art, photography and architecture, in Kreuzberg: a size you can see in one go, with Café Dix inside. It opens on Mondays, when the state museums don’t.
Good to know: Closed Tuesdays. €14; everyone pays €7 on the first Wednesday of the month.
The natural history museum in Mitte, where the dinosaur hall impresses everyone, whatever they know about dinosaurs. A cheap ticket and a café make it an easy afternoon.
Good to know: Closed Mondays. €11; book a timed ticket online.
A museum about the future by the Spree near Hauptbahnhof, with a hands-on lab where you can solder or program something. Free to get in, which makes it an easy plan B.
Good to know: Closed Tuesdays; till 20:00 on Thursdays.

How we pick
Every place here was chosen for this guide and comes with a note on why; nobody pays to be on it. The facts (hours, prices, addresses) come from the places' own websites and OpenStreetMap, and the events from the sites that list them, each linked on its page. Something wrong or closed?
